The Summer season is in full swing here in Winter Park! Check out what tops our list of can't miss events coming up over the next few weeks. Check back often to stay in the know about all the mountain music, festivals, races, rodeos, family fun & other events going on this summer in Winter Park & the Fraser Valley. 

1. Big Head Todd & The Monsters FREE Concert

When: Thursday June 22nd 6-8pm 

Where: The NEW Permanent Outdoor Stage at Hideaway Park Downtown Winter Park, CO

Celebrate the start of summer event season with a FREE live concert from Colorado's own Big Head Todd & The Monsters as they kick off event season with a concert in the park. 

Brand new permanent outdoor stage specially built to embrace the beauty of Winter Park.  Rent a bike then cruise over to the park, set up a picnic blanket & settle in to enjoy the sounds of music in the mountains.   This FREE event is open to all & you're welcome to bring in outside food & drink - just leave the pups at home.  No dogs are allowed at events in Hideaway Park (excluding service animals of course).

2. 15th Annual Blues From The Top Festival Annual Blues From The Top Music Festival Winter Park, CO

When: Saturday June 24th & Sunday July 25th.  11am-6pm

Where: Hideaway Park Stage in Downtown Winter Park, CO

We've come to believe that blues sounds better in the mountains, join us the weekend of June 24th, and you'll be a believer yourself! Named the BEST BLUES FESTIVAL in Colorado, the Grand County Blues Society presents a jam packed lineup of blues artists, from traditional sounds to newer artists with a more free form style.  A portion of proceeds from The Blues From The Top Festival benefits the Blue Star Connection, a non-profit organization dedicated to putting music in schools & hospitals.  Buy tickets here - $30/1 day or $50/2 days - VIP tickets also available.   Tip - Keep the party going & check out after shows hosted at Smokin' Moe's Ribhouse in Cooper Creek Square. 

3. Rendezvous Run For Independence Rendervous Run For Independence Race

When: Saturday July 1.  Race Starts at 9am After Party Ends by 1pm 

Where: Start at the Vintage Hotel near Winter Park Resort. Finish at Rendezvous Neighborhood in Fraser. 

This family friendly 5 mile race has become a 4th of July tradition in Winter Park & is the perfect way to start off your Holiday weekend. The race begins outside the Vintage Hotel, located at the base of Winter Park Resort.  Runners & walkers of all levels are welcome to join in the fun, even furry friends can participate just be sure they're leashed.  Registration fees include an event t-shirt, commemorative item & party at the finish line. The race will finish with an after party at the park in Rendezvous including prizes for top finishers, snacks, refreshments & music.  Tip:  Enter Code WPRACE when registering for the race to receive $5 OFF your registration! 

4. Village Uncorked! Wine, Art & Cheese Festival

When: Saturday July 1. Noon-4pm 

Where: The Village at Winter Park Resort 

So you already got your work out in by completing the Run 4 Independence right?  Well what could be a better follow up to a race than some wine & cheese?  Swing by the shop to rent a bike then pedal up the Fraser River Trail to check out this annual festival.  Pre-purchase a wine sampling glass now for the best price, then wind your way through the village while you taste over 40 wine & cheese pairings.   Live music, photo stations & art displays complete this favorite event. 

5. Lance Gutersohn's 4th of July Celebration

When: Tuesday July 4th. 6-10pm  

Where: Hideaway Park, Downtown Winter Park

'Merica!! Bring the whole gang down to the park for fireworks, food & festivities this 4th of July!  Fireworks begin at dusk - but arrive early to stake out a spot, this popular event grows each year - don't believe us? Check out a live video of 4th of July in Winter Park last year...

6. Tequila & Tacos Festival Tequila & Tacos Festival in Winter Park, CO

When: Saturday July 8th. Noon-4pm 

Where: Hideaway Park, Downtown Winter Park

Cue the music...these are few of our favorite things!  Quickly becoming 1 of our very favorite summer time celebrations the Tequila & Tacos Festival combines Mariachi music, taco samples from local restaurants & you guessed it a whole lotta' tequila tasting.  One piece of advice - get familiar with the FREE Winter Park shuttle, the Lift & don't plan on driving after drinking in the sun all day. 

Winter Park Jazz Festival 7. Winter Park Jazz Festival 

When: Saturday July 15 & Sunday July 16th.  Gates Open at 11am Music Until 6pm.  After Parties All Night. 

Where: Hideaway Park, Downtown Winter Park

Ask around & you'll see that Winter Park summers have long been synonymous with the acclaimed Winter Park Jazz Festival. The festival has been a Winter Park mainstay for 35 years & has earned national recognition by continually attracting world renowned headliners & sell out crowds.  This year the festival presents Charlie Wilson as the Saturday headliner & on Sunday features Marsha Ambrosius & Eric Benet as the headlining acts.  The Jazz festival brings top performers from across the US to play together in an outdoor music venue that can't be beat.  Art, food, clothing, jewelry & other specialty vendors come out for the festival, keep your eyes peeled for the Epic Mountain Sports booth as the festival, we'll be there slinging hats & sunnies all weekend long!  Tip:  this festival sells out each year - get your Jazz Fest tickets early to guarantee you have a spot

8. Rendezvous Mountain Bike Capital USA Weekend and Colorado Freeride Festival 

When: Friday July 28th-Sunday July 30th 

Where: Hideaway Park, Downtown Winter Park ---- > Winter Park Resort 

Weather you're a seasoned biker or are just starting out, the Rendezvous Mountain Bike Capital USA Weekend (sponsored by Epic Mountain Sports we might add) is the perfect opportunity to hone your skills as a rider.  Over the weekend you can sign up to participate in skills clinics & guided rides with certified instructors & enjoy an after party with food & drinks in Hideaway Park.  You'll learn bike handling techniques & grow your confidence & abilities as a rider. The weekend also coincides with the annual Colorado Freeride Festival hosted by Winter Park Resort.  The festival attracts professional mountain bikers & invites spectators to live vicariously by witnessing theses amazing athletes preform aerial stunts, jumps & downhill races all weekend long.
